Picture graphs for non-reading workers to set the correct order of tasks.
One-on-one training in using employer’s custom software and multiple chances to practice with job coach before using computer in time-limited situations (such as with customers waiting).
Tape recordings for individuals with reading comprehension and memory deficits.

‘Soft’ accommodations such as frequent change of position or more frequent breaks.
Colored labels on laundry carts and elevators so developmentally disabled housekeepers know which cart belongs on each floor.
Task charts, schedules, and maps.
Translating parts lists into Spanish.
Role playing appropriate interactions with customers and the public.
Attending company training and reviewing the important points with new employees.

Supported Employment

Dorothy Kret & Associates offers supported employment both in group community worksites and at individual placements. A task analysis is completed and determination of assistive technology and/or reasonable accommodations (and assistance with implementation) is available.
