Vocational Rehabilitation:
In working with the Department of Economic Security we are able to help clients that are referred to us by Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors to find employment. Whether it requires teaching the client how to write a resume, fill out an application, dress for an interview, or simply connecting them with the appropriate employment leads dk Advocates is here to assist the needs of our clients.
Industrial Commission of Arizona:
Many times employees unfortunately sustain injuries form their jobs and can no longer continue in their place of employment. In these instance they are required to file a claim with worker's comp. Cases of workers compensation are referred to us by the state of Arizona through the Industrial Commission. In such instances our clients are assisted in obtaining employment or in seeking retraining by going to school for another vocation in order to re-enter the workforce.
Project HERO:
Designed to help veterans rejoin the workforce successfully. Clients are veterans and helped by veterans. The great sacrifice made by our brave men and women in the armed forces can rarely be understood by others that have not shared the same experience of serving our nation. Therefore it is important that they have someone who can relate to them in every step of the way in their support. Our program offers help from a fellow veteran in everything ranging from resume development to interviewing skills.
CHOICES:
Clients in this program are offered a variety of services from computer classes that offer a stipend to internships to on the job training support through a designated job developer. Clients go through vocational assessments in order to better help them find a suitable place in the employment field and are offered continuous support throughout the employment development process.
Many people find it difficult to qualify for the jobs they want due to limited work experience. For over 20 years dk Advocates has provided community-based, small group paid work experience programs, each supervised by an on-site Worksite Supervisor.
Part of our Job Development and Placement program includes Resume Development. This is includes teaching the client how to prepare and write a resume. If the client should need it we can also type the resume for them. We provide job leads and schedule interviews. Those who prefer company in the interview are accompanied.
